Our Mission

The Allen County PVA Office is dedicated to serving and assisting the public with understanding the operations of the PVA office. In an effort to better reach taxpayers and other interested parties, the Allen County PVA has developed a website to be explored on the Internet. This website provides general information and property information, as well as important forms and schedules for filing taxes. This site has links to state agencies, local agencies and associations.Regional map of Kentucky highlighting Allen County. This website contains information regarding property located in Allen County, Kentucky. The Allen County PVA Office maintains the website to assist the public with any questions regarding the Kentucky Property Tax System.

New policies, procedures and current statutes will be posted to keep taxpayers informed. The current certified Tax Roll (assessments), characteristics (when available), as well as ownership information, will be available on this site.Kentucky property tax law establishes the assessment date as of January 1st. All property is assessed as of that date. Ownership of property for tax purposes is also set by the January 1st requirement. If a property is purchased after that date, state statute requires the tax bill be issued in the name of the former owner until the next calendar year. An attempt is made to mail the tax bill to the new owners using information provided to us by recorded deeds.

If, however, a new owner does not receive a copy of the tax bill, the owner may contact the Sheriff's Office at 270-237-3388 to obtain that information.Your Property Valuation Administrator’s office does not determine how much tax you pay.  We only assess the “fair Market value” of the property to be taxed. There are two components that determine your property bill, Assessed Value and Tax Rate.

The tax rates are determined by elected officials in governmental bodies such as county and city governments, school boards, and special taxing entities such as the extension office, library board, soil conservation, and the health department.  The PVA office does not set property tax rates, nor does it collect property taxes. If you have any specific questions, comments, or suggestions, please email the Allen County PVA.
